Born in Louisville (KY), Vic Frierson is 6’, 8”, 280 pounds of smoo-o-o-th! In a career that has spanned more than 2 decades, Vic has amassed an impressive résumé that includes regularly appearing at the finest hotels, supper clubs, and entertainment centers from New York to Florida, and throughout the southern United States.
Vic’s debut CD is appropriately entitled, Th'owback*. Th’owback features nine songs written and composed by Vic, as well as, uniquely original renditions of Brenda Russell's venerable classic, Get Here and the timeless gospel standard, His Eye Is on the Sparrow. The album has enjoyed rave critical acclaim in the U.S. and abroad, earning for Vic an honorable mention as vocalist of the year from veteran music critic Howard Dukes (see soultracks.com/vic-frierson-tho-back), and for the album the Akademia Music Award for Best R&B Album (http://www.theakademia.com/january2016_bestalbum_rbsoul2.html).

Johnny has performed with various well know musicians throughout his musical career such as: Roy Ayers, Ronnie Laws, Gary Bartz, Dizzie Gilespie, Jimmie Magriff, Mulgrew Miller, John Patton, Charlie Mason and Leo Johnson. He has opened for George Duke and Rachelle Ferrell.
His unique talent and experience has allowed Mr. Jones to be exceptional as a performer and as an accompanist.
He has performed with Visions/Jerry Gordon Quintet, Spice and O'donel Levy, Blue Note Jazz Ensemble, Aesthetic Police and C.C. Rogers & Co. et al. He has toured Europe, Iceland, Germany, France and Holland for the Dept. of Defense. Recordings include Eric Howard, ANIMA The Spirit, The Soul, THe Life-Force, THE FORCE OF LIFE, Jerry Gordon, Soft and Warm Saisaa, Saisa Live et. al. Versatile in all styles of music.

I started out playing Piano in 1957 and have been involved in Professional Music since 1967. I've traveled the world with many major Artists, performing and Recording on several Records and CD's. Artists I've worked with (to name a few): Chuck Brown. 1973 Ernie Fields. 1975 The Spinners. 1979 I had my on group from 1984 - 1990 Built a Recording Studio in 1987 and still operating to date. Worked with Kim Waters on several CD's. Isaac Hayes int 1991 George Duke int 1991 with Anita Baker Worked with Nancy Wilson Recording "Loving You Loving Me" 1997 Skip Scarborough from the early nineties until 2003 Worked with Najee 1998 until 2004 From that time I've worked with Ray ParkerJr, Michael Henderson, Al Johnson, Howard Hewett, George Johnson (Brothers Johnson), Adina Howard, Jean Carne, Angela Bofil, Billy Paul and many others. Currently working in the studio upgrading with adding new gear.

Conducted electric bass clinic at the U.S. Army Bandmasters Association, 1979. Bass player for the Faculty Lab Band at the Armed Forces School of Music, 1980. Served in Korea. Bass player for the Continental Army Band, Hampton, VA, 1981. Served in 282nd Army Band, Ft. Jackson S.C. Graduated Advanced Noncommissioned Officers course, Army, 1986. Awarded military occupation status (MOS), electric bass (O2U), 1986. Won audition at Army special band, The U.S. Army Field Band, from Washington, DC, 1986. Formed jazz group, Spice. Graduated Equal Opportunity Course, 1988, Army. Awarded staff position, Equal Opportunity Leader, The U.S. Army Field Band, 1988. Noncommissioned officer in charge (NCOIC) of the Volunteers of The United States Army Field Band, 1994. Graduated Consideration of Others program, 1996, Army. Promoted to Sergeant Major, U.S. Army in 1999. 34 years continuous military service in the U.S. Army.
